June 04, 2013
TUSCALOOSA, AL - The City of Tuscaloosa is proud to announce the 3rd Annual Celebration on the River, July 4th at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater. Come out and enjoy a performance by the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra as they celebrate Independence Day with all of their patriotic July 4th favorites!
“The Celebration on the River is a highlight of the summer in Tuscaloosa. There are a number of fun activities for the entire family, capped off with a brilliant fireworks display, and where we come together as community to celebrate the birth of our nation,” said Mayor Walt Maddox.
“Along with family activities and fireworks under the stars, the TSO is privileged to be an integral part of this celebration; helping to create family memories that will last a lifetime and to honor our nation and our veterans in such a spectacular way,” said Elizabeth McGuire, Executive Director of the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra.
The Tuscaloosa County Park & Recreation Authority invites the community to come out early to enjoy the FREE Kids Zone on the lawn of the Tuscaloosa News. Activities begin at 6PM and include inflatable games, a climbing wall, face painting, laser tag and much more! The PARA Kids Zone offers free fun for the entire family before and during the TSO performance begins at 8:00pm.

The river is extremely clean today allowing it to have various uses such as fishing, water skiing, Alabama's crew team, triathlons, navigation, and all of our sponsors use the river,” said Tim Parker of Parker Towing.
